About

Pelikan Baba is a Polish visual artist whose transient practice moves primarily between Edinburgh and her hometown of Wrocław.

Her work draws influence from the Superflat movement, urban culture, nature, and folklore, and is driven by her curiosity about the world.

Illustration serves as a foundation and bridge between disciplines. Whether developed for print, animation, tattoos, or murals, her work emphasizes symbolism and storytelling through bold shapes and colors while preserving a sense of naivety and wonder.
Her visual language blends digital media with traditional techniques, and has drawn inspiration from her early fascination in graffiti movement, graphic novels, 1980s-1990s East Asian and Eastern European animation—continuing influences that shape her approach to movement and narrative imagery.

Her tattoo practice began in 2017 through a traditional apprenticeship in Edinburgh and has been continuously developing her craft since. Working across mixed styles, she is drawn to strong colours, bold linework, and patterns inspired by cubism as well as the traditional and neotraditional tattooing.
